Happy 2019!

Posted: January 1, 2019

Happy new year, everyone, and we hope you had a wonderful holiday season. 2018 was a great year for us, especially because we released our fourth album, Hide in Plain Sight. We really appreciate the kind reviews and coverage we received on the album in a number of publications including Beatroute, The Georgia Straight, Vancouver Sun and New Westminster Record. Thank you all for getting the word about our gigs and our album.

And thank YOU for coming to our gigs last year! We played more shows in 2018 than in any other year since we’ve been a band. Big thanks to all the people and venues who booked us (in no particular order): Rob at the Princeton Pub, Lana at LanaLou’s, Richard at The Heritage Grill, Norah and Slevin of Gabba Productions, Sarah and Mike of Leghound Booking, Heather and Erika of Musart Cultural Society, Mark “Bandcouver” Bignell of CFRO-FM 100.5 and LanaLou’s, Dave Bowes for the Bowie Ball, Mo at the Rickshaw Theatre, Blaine at the Fairview Pub, Noah of The Tower of Dudes, Bruce of Teenage Tiger and EddyD of EddyD & the Sexbombs. Thanks also to the bands we played with and shared their equipment with us last year, again in no particular order: Tayt Modern, The New Black/Flat Four, Finn Leahy, The Judys, Trouble11, Coach StrobCam and the Alex-Fraser Bridge, EddyD & the Sexbombs, The Tower of Dudes, Teenage Tiger, Aaron Trory, The Top Boost, Texture & Light, Zephyr Nova, Highland Eyeway, All Kings Assembly, Doug Andrew and The Circus in Flames, Campfire Shitkickers, Chumper/’77 Proof, George T. Montebruno, Rat Silo and Wichita Trip… it’s likely not a complete list so our apologies if we missed you.

A huge thank you goes out to David Carswell, for your stellar recording, mixing and producing job on Hide in Plain Sight. Thanks for your patience and great ears as always in making us sound good! Kudos also to Brock McFarlane at CPS Mastering for superb mastering as usual, Sarah Gee Miller for the wonderful album cover art, Eric Cottrell and Scott Beadle for the graphics and packaging and Dave Read at Vinyl Record Guru for pressing the LPs and CDs.

As for 2019, we look forward to more shows in Metro Vancouver as well as other parts of BC, as we continue to promote Hide in Plain Sight. Our next gig is on Friday, February 1st at the Railway Stage & Beer Cafe in downtown Vancouver. This will be the first time in three years we’ve played at the Railway so we’re stoked! The show is presented by Live Acts Canada and the Live Agency and you can get advance tickets here:
