Prince Tribute Night coming up! Updated with set time!
Posted: July 12, 2016Our next gig is coming up in short order on Friday, July 22 at the Rickshaw Theatre, 254 East Hastings in Vancouver. We’re pleased to be a part of the venue’s Prince Tribute Night, a show that promises to be a wonderful homage to the music of his Purpleness! We’ll be playing a couple of Prince songs at this gig, “Paisley Park” and “Pop Life” (both from his 1985 album, Around the World in a Day), and we’ll be joined by a very special guest. Doors open at 7:30 pm and our set will start at around 11:45; we do encourage you to get there early and see an amazing lineup of local bands play classic Prince tunes. If it turns out anything like the David Bowie tribute show we played at the Rickshaw in February, this should be a very special night! Most importantly, all proceeds from the show will go towards a very worthy cause, supporting youth initiatives in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side, through Kids Up Front Foundation Vancouver.
After that, our next show will be on Friday, August 12 at the Princeton Pub with Zafirios. Here’s the link to the Facebook event page.
And below are some photos from our Canada Day gig at the Fairview Pub, all by the very serious Justin Lim a.k.a. @lildrammerboy; you can see more shots from this performance and other recent shows on our 2016 photos page. We’ve also posted a video from the Fairview, our special Canada Day cover of “She Controls Me,” originally by Vancouver’s own Strange Advance, a band that Paul Iverson, our guitar tech (and tech to many others!), played in.
