Photos and Video from the Prince Tribute Night
Posted: July 24, 2016It was a fantastic Summer night for the Prince Tribute Show at the Rickshaw Theatre! There was a packed house for the gig and $3,010 was raised for supporting youth initiatives in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side, through Kids Up Front Foundation Vancouver.
We were so pleased to be a part of this great event; like the David Bowie tribute show in February, all of the bands brought their A-games. We played two songs from Prince and the Revolution’s 1985 album, Around the World in a Day: “Paisley Park” and “Pop Life”– we’ve posted our performance of the latter song below. Prince was another huge loss to the music world this year, and one of the true innovators; we’re still in shock over the passing of both Prince and Bowie within a few months of each other.
We’d like to extend a big thank you to our good friend Kim Stewart for guesting on vocals for the night! And a warm thank you to the fine folks at the Rickshaw Theatre for organizing and hosting this event, especially Mo Tarmohamed, Robert Barrington III and soundman extraordinaire, Johnny Wildkat. Here are some super shots of us taken by Linda Bakker.
And here’s the video of our performance of “Pop Life,” shot by Mister Tony Lee.
