March 9 at New West’s Heritage Grill
Posted: February 14, 2012We’re counting down the weeks to our next gig at New Westminster’s Heritage Grill on Friday, March 9. We had a blast the last time we played there in October, which also featured the debut of Hello Polly, the fantastic new glammy rock project led by Paul Leahy (ex-No Fun) and featuring Tony, Gord and Ian from the Pointed Sticks. Look out for Hello Polly’s album this summer from Northern Electric.
Our gig at the Heritage Grill this time features the debut show of another band, The Square Roots, featuring members of the great local band, The Strange Magic. They describe themselves as “a distinctive blend of cosmic country and acid folk, using an old family recipe handed down to them from Uncle Neil, Old Man Cash, and The Fairport Convention clan. Their songs will take you back to a simpler time, when young and old would gather around the campfire, singing tales of UFO sightings, right wing conspiracies, and the suppression of alternate sources of energy by multinational oil conglomerates.” Sounds so good, we can’t wait to see them!
And look out for the poster around town!
