Super Duper benefit show for Paul Leahy this Fri, Jan 27!

Posted: January 25, 2017

Our last, but not least, show in January is the Super Duper Show at the Rickshaw Theatre this Friday the 27th, a tribute and benefit show for our good friend Paul Leahy of Polly and No Fun. It goes without saying we’ve long admired his talents as an amazing guitarist, singer, songwriter and consummate performer. We have been thinking a lot about Paul these days as he has inoperable cancer which has forced him to retire from playing music and leave his job; he is currently in hospice. All the proceeds from this show will benefit Paul and his family; a GoFundMe page been set up to raise funds for his medical care and other expenses.

The doors open at 8pm and we’ll be hitting the stage at around 9:35 and will be playing a few of Paul’s songs and a cover of a song he selected. It’s a great lineup of a bunch of Paul’s favourite local bands and we are so pleased to be a part of this — check out the schedule for the night:

Tayt Modern – 8:30
Finn Leahy (Paul’s son!) – 8:55
The New Black – 9:10
China Syndrome – 9:35
Swank – 10:00
SLIP~ons – 10:25
The Furniture – 10:50
Polly Suit (former members of Paul’s bands Polly and Pleasure Suit) – 11:15
Pointed Sticks – 11:55

We had a great time playing at the Fairview Pub last Friday. Below is a nice shot taken by prodigal son Justin Lim — more pics from this show can be found on our 2017 photos page.
